The whole line of Jianshui (Gejiu)-Yuanyang Expressway is divided into Jianshui-Yuanyang section and Gejiu-Yuanyang section, with a total length of 124.53km and a total investment of 22.77 billion yuan.
Project Characteristics:
1. Large drop in elevation of high mountains and deep valleys. Vast territory with a sparse population and little arable land.
2. High ground temperature in granite and large deformation in sandstone and mudstone.
3. Hot springs occasionally appear in the mountains, and there are often hidden rivers under the valley.
4. Y-shape connected to three expressways, connecting both domestic and foreign areas.
5. High-pier bridge spans every ditch, and super-long tunnel faces the mountain.
6. The spiral tunnel protects the terrace, and the suspension steel bridge assists Yuanyang.
Main Work Undertaken
As the leading unit, JSTI, together with POWERCHINA Kunming Institute and POWERCHINA Guiyang Institute, undertake the survey and design work of the Project.
Innovation Points
Nige Tunnel, the highest geothermal tunnel in China, has been built. At present, it has passed through Midi Tunnel, the second longest expressway spiral tunnel with the world’s first drop altitude difference, the Tayi tunnel with large deformation in soft rock and the Honghe Extra-large Bridge adopting the steel-UHPC combined deck system.
